SCSU biz school goes for the Gold

Lindy Lee Gold, a New Haven philanthropist and senior development specialist with the state’s Department of Economic & Community Development, has been named an honorary member of the Southern Connecticut State University chapter of the Delta Mu Delta honor society. Gold, along with 19 new members of the SCSU chapter, were inducted last Saturday during a ceremony and celebration at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven.

With DECD since 1998, Gold is responsible for business retention, recruitment, development and expansion. Before that she was director of development and community relations for the state office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Her professional background also includes work in the travel and investment industries, as well as devoting efforts to directing and coordinating development and renovation of low- and middle-income housing.

Her civic affiliations include serving on the Gateway Community College Foundation, on the state board of the Anti-Defamation League, as an associate fellow at Yale’s Pierson College, and as a director of the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, the United Way of Greater New Haven and the Jewish Foundation. Additionally, Gold serves on the Cultural Affairs Commission of the City of New Haven; the Southern Connecticut State University Foundation board of directors; the Housatonic Community College Foundation board of directors; and Connecticut Health Investigative Team board.

Donald Beckwith

Donald Beckwith of North Haven has been named senior vice president and chief credit officer of Essex Savings Bank. Beckwith joined Essex Savings in 2002 as vice president, chief lending officer. His previous experience includes more than 45 years in banking along the Shoreline, including managing commercial and consumer lending as well as loan portfolio management and compliance. He holds a BS from the University of Connecticut.

New Haven neuroscience technology company Cogstate Ltd (ASX.CGS) has appointed Ken Billard chief commercial officer. In this role he will oversee the global sales organization to develop and execute strategies focused on expanding the adoption of Cogstate solutions in pharmaceutical clinical trials. Before joining Cogstate, Billard was vice president of business development and global strategic partnerships at CRF Health (now part of Signant Health), and he has held various global leadership roles with invivodata, McKessonHBOC and CB Technologies.
