The Shops at Yale will host the third annual Appetizer & Dessert Crawl Fundraiser this Sunday, Aug. 18. The food “crawl” will showcase the city’'s sundry culinary delights, while raising money for the New Haven Animal Shelter.
A dog adoption with the shelter is also scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday on the Broadway Island at 56 Broadway.
“Last year we raised $3,000 for the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter, bringing the two-year cumulative total from the Appetizer & Dessert Crawl to more than $5,000,” said David DelVecchio, director of real estate asset management for Yale University Properties. “This year, our goal is to make a $4,500 donation.”
Crawl participants will savor appetizer and dessert samples from 14 Shops at Yale restaurants and eateries for $20 (plus a $2.04 processing fee). This year will feature two separate food routes, one of which will be assigned to attendees upon check-in.
The ticket price includes free parking at the 150 York Street Garage. All profits from the Crawl will go directly to the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter.
