The Hartford Taste Festival will feature numerous local restaurants offering taste portions of their favorite menu items to attendees this weekend.

The city’s inaugural food, music and cultural diversity celebration takes place downtown on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Constitution Plaza.

The festival is meant to support restaurants, which are still struggling amid the pandemic, while giving attendees an opportunity to enjoy food, activities, goods from local vendors and entertainment on two stages.

It’s expected to attract thousands of people of all ages. Admission to the plaza and entertainment is free thanks to support from sponsors. The event is presented by The Hartford, which is covering vendor fees so restaurants can participate for free.
