My Accountant, a Trumbull-headquartered financial services company, has decided it needs a new moniker to better reflect everything it provides to customers.

The company, whose customers include high-net-worth families, athletes, entertainers, corporate executives and more, has rebranded itself as “Aquilance.”

According to the company, the rebranding was needed because it offers a range of services beyond accounting.

The new name was chosen as a nod to the quill that has been part of the company’s logo for years. Also, it is a combination of "Aquila" – a constellation of the mythological eagle that carried Zeus' thunderbolts – and "finance."

Bill Farren and Norb Janis launched My Accountant in 1987 as an outsourced bill pay and accounting firm.

Since then, it has evolved to include a “more holistic set of services,” according to the company. Its services range from personal bookkeeping to entity and partnership accounting to consolidated investment performance reporting. It also offers irrevocable life insurance administration, medical claims processing, payroll services, and property and casualty insurance review.

Executive changes

In addition to the rebranding, the company has changes in management.

Co-founder and longtime President Bill Farren is retiring, and his son, Joe Farren, is the company’s new president. Ken Eyler, a longtime investor and partner in the company, is its first CEO.

Joe Farren said he has seen how the business has evolved in the decades since his father started it.

“Many of our clients are people I've known most of my life,” Joe Farren said. “We are thrilled by the opportunities we see ahead."

Eyler said the firm’s clients include individuals who have created successful companies and  “navigated remarkable careers” in sports, entertainment and business.

“They rely on us to take care of the day-to-day activities that are time-consuming yet critical,” Eyler said. “By working with Aquilance, their time can be better spent building companies, overseeing charitable organizations and enjoying what they like.”
