Two join city investment management firm

Edgehill Endowment Partners, an investment manager for endowments and foundations, announced two recent additions to its New Haven team. 

Brian Morgan has joined the firm in a new position as director of risk and analytics on the investment team.

Previously, Morgan spent eight years at Choate Rosemary Hall, serving as investment director and operations manager, and at Skandia Global Funds, serving as mutual fund operations administrator. 

Morgan received his B.S. from Central Connecticut State University, where he focused his studies on Finance. 

Craig Dessen is the firm’s new managing director on its  investment team.

Dessen has over 15 years of investment experience, with a focus on private markets, portfolio construction and asset allocation. 

He previously served as partner and managing director at Post Rock Advisors and joined its successor firm, Roundtable Investment Partners, now Truvvo Partners.  

During his time at Post Rock, he helped it grow from a start-up to $1 billion in assets. 

Dessen has an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.

Attorney named to Griffin Hospital Development Fund Board

A Valley-based lawyer has joined Griffin Hospital Development Fund’s board of directors.

Frederick D. Stanek of Seymour was born at the hospital and is a partner with the law firm of Teodosio, Stanek LLC, which has offices in Shelton and Oxford. 

The fund’s mission is to raise money for the hospital, and it has supported various projects, such as the construction of the Center for Cancer Care, Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness and Hewitt Ambulatory Services Pavilion.

“As a member of the Development Fund Board of Directors, I hope to contribute to furthering the Hospital’s funding for the Surgical Suite Expansion Project and work toward assisting Griffin Health in continuing and expanding its services and its philosophy as a health care provider for the care of the community,” Stanek said.

New president selected to lead bar association

Attorney Alan H. Bowie, Jr. has begun his tenure as president of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association. 

Bowie, an associate at the firm Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey’s New Haven office, is one of the youngest-ever presidents of the association.

Bowie has been an association member for four years and previously served as vice president and president elect.

Bowie, who was born and raised in New Haven, practices primarily in the area of labor and employment law.
