Device42, a West Haven-based IT company, has acquired ArrayIQ, a Boston software company which specializes in storage discovery.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Device42, which is located at 600 Saw Mill Road, indicated it expects this acquisition will significantly expand its storage discovery capabilities, which it hopes will make it an industry leader in the field.
Raj Jalan, chief executive officer and co-founder of Device42, said the company is thrilled to welcome ArrayIQ to its family. Device42 serves customers in 60 countries, helping them to modernize their IT infrastructure.
“Our customers are dealing with an explosion of data from big data activities across the data center and cloud,” Jalan said in an announcement.
According to Jalan, storage can be expensive for the IT industry.
The ArrayIQ platform provides broad storage discovery, supporting over 20 different storage vendor platforms, according to the announcement. It also helps customers pinpoint and predict bottlenecks in applications arising from storage infrastructure.
Zakir Magdum, co-founder and chief technology officer with ArrayIQ, indicated the acquisition will benefit customers.
"ArrayIQ's specialized storage discovery is a perfect match for the Device42 platform," Magdum said. "By partnering with Device42, ArrayIQ customers will have access to a complete discovery and asset inventory solution, and will bring the ArrayIQ capabilities to a wider audience."
The ArrayIQ team will work out of Device42’s Boston office.
