Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, the parent company of Mohegan Sun, has named a new chief operating officer.

Jody Madigan, a former general manager at the Paragon Casino Resort in Louisiana, will take over the COO role at MGE, overseeing strategic business planning across the company’s properties. He will report directly to Ray Pineault, who was appointed CEO of MGE in May.

“With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality and casino gaming industry, Jody’s leadership and expertise will contribute to MGE’s continued growth and success,” Pineault said in a statement.

Madigan served as the general manager of Paragon — which MGE managed from 2016 to 2021 — for a little over three years. Prior to that, he served as vice president of strategic execution and business development at Seneca Gaming in New York, assistant general manager of the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in West Virginia and general manager of Casino Miami.

MGE is currently in the midst of an ambitious expansionary phase, having opened a new casino in Las Vegas in April. The company is also pursuing integrated resort-casino projects in Greece and Japan and launching an online gaming platform and sports betting capabilities in collaboration with FanDuel.
