Monica Dixon Perry joins East Haven’s Burzenski & Company as vet consultant

East Haven-based veterinary practice management firm Burzenski & Company has named Monica Dixon Perry as its new director of veterinary consulting services. 

Dixon, a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), has worked in the field of veterinary medicine for more than 35 years. 

“I am thrilled to return to my passion of working with premier practices throughout the U.S.,” Dixon said. “This is an exciting opportunity, and I am very pleased to join the Burzenski & Company veterinary practice team.”

Dixon is an active member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and VetPartners. She was named the 2022 VMX Veterinary Meeting and Expo Practice Management Speaker of the Year.

Founded in 1983, Burzenski & Company provides financial management and tax planning services for veterinary practices and their owners. 

Curtis named head of Yale cardiac catheterization labs

Yale Cardiovascular Medicine and the Heart and Vascular Center announced that Dr. Jeptha P. Curtis has taken the job of medical director of the Yale New Haven Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories 

Curtis also holds the post of director, coronary interventions, for the Yale New Haven Health System. 

Curtis joined the faculty of the medical school in 2004 and is an associate professor of medicine. He served as the inaugural medical director for performance improvement at the Yale Heart and Vascular Center. 

Curtis’s research focuses on the intersection of invasive cardiology, novel technologies and quality measurement. He has led Yale Medical School’s Registry Data Analytic Center housed within the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. He was recently named the chief scientific advisor of the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry.

Brett Eagleson joins Washington Trust as VP of commercial real estate

New Haven-based Washington Trust Company announced that Brett Eagleson has joined the bank’s commercial real estate group as vice president and relationship manager in Connecticut. 

Eagleson will focus on the development of commercial real estate loan business, including commercial construction projects, real estate acquisitions and refinancing opportunities.

Eagleson brings to his new role 14 years of experience in the commercial real estate lending industry, with expertise in industrial, multifamily, retail, office, special use and construction-to-permanent asset classes. Most recently, he served as vice president and commercial loan officer at Guilford Savings Bank.

“With his local roots and deep experience in relationship-based commercial real estate lending, he will help grow our presence in the market providing personalized service and customized lending solutions as we help real estate professionals throughout the region grow,” said Julia Anne Slom, senior vice president and team leader, commercial real estate at Washington Trust Company.

Eagleson is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association and the New Haven/Middlesex County Association of Realtors Commercial Investment Division. He is also a lead advocate and representative of the victims and families of the 9-11 terrorist attack.
