Two Roads Brewing Co. has exciting news on tap.

The Stratford-based brewery recently launched a non-alcoholic Juicy IPA, with plans to roll out more varieties over the coming months.

“An NA (non-alcoholic) Juicy makes perfect sense from a trend standpoint,” said Two Roads’ Marketing Director Collin Kennedy. “Juicy IPAs, and non-alc beers in general, continue to grow in popularity, making this entry a very logical first step.”

Two Roads’ CEO Brad Hittle credited Master Brewer Phil Markowski for developing the booze-less brew, which has 70 calories per serving.

“Phil's goal was to create an NA that would convince beer drinkers they are actually enjoying a full powered Juicy IPA,” Hittle said.

Markowski said it took about 18 months to come up with just the right blend.

“Developing an NA beer has been one of the more interesting challenges in my brewing career,” he said. “After about 18 months of trial and error, I love where we've arrived. We have a flavorful, authentic tasting Juicy IPA that is non-alcoholic, but drinks like any of our other traditional Juicy IPA products.”

The non-alcoholic Juicy IPA, boasting familiar graphics on par with Two Roads’ logo, is available in 12 oz. six-packs in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with plans to expand as demand for the product increases, according to Kennedy.

“It was important for us to leverage the significant consumer awareness of our brand and our reputation for innovation and quality that we've built over the last 10 years,” Kennedy added.

Since opening in 2021, Two Roads has grown to become a Top 10 brewery in the northeast. Two Roads has two tasting rooms on its 10-acre campus at 1700 Stratford Ave., including one at its Area Two Innovation Center.

The non-alcoholic brew market represents an area of potential growth for area brewers.

Stratford’s Athletic Brewing has found notable success in the non-alcoholic beer market, signing a lease last year on a 150,000-square-foot Milford property at 75 Cascade Blvd. as part of its growth plan.

Named by Fast Company as one of the “Brands That Matter” in 2021, Athletic launched its first non-alcoholic light beer in March.
